Baby Naming

As an alternative or as well as a Christening ceremony some parents are now choosing to celebrate the birth of their child through a Baby Naming Ceremony.

The birth of a baby is a joyous occasion and in welcoming and naming a child, is a celebration of one of life’s continuing miracles: the birth of a human being.

Ceremony offers a sense of tradition, of occasion and of offering oaths and reassurances towards the care for baby.

“Friends and family of (baby), are invited to take part in a ceremony to welcome the child into the family unit and into the circle of their relatives and friends.

The responsibility of a child’s life and happiness is not only the concern of his/her parents but also of the gathered community.

Asking friends and family to share in the parents happiness and joy so too you are asking that they share in the responsibility, in helping to raise the child. The more love this child receives, the more he/she will have to offer others. The more people in his/her world, the richer his/her world will be.”

A baby naming does not need a special rented venue, it can be at home and then followed by an afternoon tea. It is a wonderful way of expressing your joy and hopes for your child's future.
